Representatives of the Investigative Committee of Russia took part in the third day of the XII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum

Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Vyacheslavovich Fedorov, participated in various discussion platforms on the third day of the XII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

Thus, during the session “The Profession of a Forensic Expert,” issues of training and advanced training of forensic experts were discussed. Participants of the event noted that the work of an expert is not only solving standard problems for which standard algorithms have been developed, but also employing non-trivial approaches and model experiments.

Another session attended by the Deputy Head of the Department focused on the topic "Patriotism and Law." Participants highlighted that civic identity and patriotism play a fundamental role to ensure the stability of a state.

A.V. Fedorov also attended the session "The Great Patriotic War: History and Legal Lessons," where issues regarding the attempts to distort historical truth were discussed. During the discussion, Valery Vitalievich Tolkachev, Head of the Department for Supervision over the Investigation of Particularly Important Criminal Cases at the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus, spoke about the joint work with investigators from the Investigative Committee of Russia in establishing the circumstances of the genocide of the Soviet people and restoring historical justice related to the USSR's role in the fight against Nazism.

Alexey Alexandrovich Bessonov, Rector of the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation named after A. Ya. Sukharev, also attended several sessions and was a speaker in the discussion on "Criminalistics for the Justice of the Future." The event was also attended by Alexander Mikhailovich Sobolev, First Deputy Director of the Forensic Expert Center of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The participants of the meeting discussed aspects of the development, implementation, and use of innovative forensic technologies, including those related to artificial intelligence, neural networks, and digital traces.
