Suspect in attack on life of Ingushetia Security Council Secretary Akhmet Kotiyev and police officer Ruslan Kotiyev detained

The Main Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the North Caucasus Federal District, within a criminal case of attack on the life of Ingushetia’s Security Council Secretary Akhmet Kotiyev and a police officer Ruslan Kotiyev, Arthur Dolsayev born in 1986 has been detained in Grozny. 

Dolsayev was detained due to the successful search operations that had been conducted by the Police of the Chechen Republic.

According to investigators, the detainee is a supporter of the radical Islamic movement "Wahhabism". It has been established that by order of one of the members of the gang led by Arthur Gatagazhev, Dolsayev was tracking Kotiyev from Malgobek to Magas (Ingushetia) for several days before murdering him. In the morning of August 27, after Kotiyev arrived in Nizhniye Achaluki village, Dolsayev, staying in a predetermined place, informed attack participators on it by sending a message from a mobile phone.

Currently, investigative actions are being conducted with the detainee, remanding him in custody is under consideration. Along with this, investigators are checking Dolsayev’s involvement in other crimes on the territory of the Republic of Ingushetia and the Chechen Republic. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
