Criminal proceedings launched against head of district administration in Khabarovsk Territory

The Far Eastern Federal District Investigation Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against head of administration of Khabarovsk municipality in Khabarovsk Territory Vladimir Aleshko. He is suspected of the crime under part 2 of article 286 of the RF Penal Code (exceeding official powers).

According to investigators, the suspect was involved in committing illegal actions connected with changes of a category and type of authorized use of land, attributed to especially protected lands (of recreational purpose) and subsequent alienation of the lands to the ownership of physical persons, who disguising it as lands for holiday cottages, in fact started to build homes there (cottages). The suspect was released on recognizance.

The Far Eastern Federal District Investigation Directorate in cooperation with the officers of the Far Eastern Federal District Main Office of the Interior Ministry and Khabarovsk Territory Office of the Federal Security Service have searched the suspect’s flat and office and are now carrying out operations to gather and consolidate the evidence.

During the probe investigators are going to check if the head of the district legally allocated other lands to physical persons.
