Far Eastern Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’ Investigative Committee has finished a criminal case against Yuri Nedorezov, former Head of Jewish Autonomous Region Office of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources and Yuri Kalashnikov, head of department in the same office. They are charged with the crime under part 3 of article 285 of the RF Criminal Code (abuse of official powers). In addition, Nedorezov is charged with paragraph “c” of part 5 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery).

According to investigators, in the period between December 2011 and January 2012, Yuri Nedorezov was in Birobidzhan and acted under a preliminary conspiracy with his subordinate Yuri Kalashnikov during proceedings on an administrative offence under part 3 of article 8.13 of the Code of Administrative Offences (violation of rules for protection of water bodies) against a joint stock company understated the damage made to the Khingan river caused by violation of water legislation. As the result about 70 million rubles was not exacted from the company as a fine to the state.

In addition, Yuri Nedorezov for the said actions in 2012, while being in the city of Khabarovsk, received from a representative of that company a bribe in the form of ownership rights – an opportunity to use a company-owned car for his personal needs, which with that purpose was given on lease to the Jewish Autonomous Region Office of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources and the right to fill his own cars at the expense of the company.

Investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to the court to be tried on the merits.
