Staff of Khanty-Mansiysk AD-Yugra Investigations Directorate of Russia’s Investigative Committee visited Great Patriotic War veteran and congratulated him on Victory Day

Sergey Alexeyevich Soldatov was born on October 18, 1923 in the village of Krasny Yar, Balakovo District, Saratov Region. In 1941, he graduated from high school in the city of Astrakhan, and was called up to the front. An Astrakhan Infantry School student, he participated in battles on the Volkhov front from November 1941. January 12, 1942 he was wounded and taken to the evacuation hospital in Borovichi, Leningrad Region. After recovery he was conferred the rank of lieutenant and returned to the Volkhov front again. In July 1942, he was badly contused and was taken prisoner. After his release from captivity, Soldatov’s rank and position were restored. In December 1945, he was demobilized. From 1946 to 1952 he studied in the Astrakhan Medical Institute. After graduating from it with a surgeon diploma, he moved to Kazakhstan. In addition to his duties of the Chief Physician of the district hospital and the Pavlodar Region Hospital, Sergey Alexeyevich Soldatov kept working as a surgeon. He was awarded the Orders of the Patriotic War II degree and the October Revolution, the "Badge of Honor ", the Medals "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", "For the development of virgin lands", "For Distinguished Labor", "Veteran of Labor", "For Valorous Labor. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of V. Lenin", an N. Pirogov anniversary badge", “Excellent worker of Civil Defense of the USSR ", the Award Pins "Excellent worker of Sanitary Defense of the USSR ", "Participant of the All-Soviet Union Agricultural Exhibition". Sergey Alexeyevich Soldatov lives in Khanty-Mansiysk, where he had moved in 2005 for permanent residence with his wife Galina Vasilyevna, who warmly hosted guests from the District Investigations Directorate.
