Staff of Udmurtia Investigations Directorate of Russia’s Investigative Committee took part in Victory Day celebrations

On the morning of May 9, the laying of flowers and garlands of Glory at the Eternal Flame began. Hundreds of residents of Izhevsk, including top officials of the republic, took part in it. Flowers were laid at the monument of military and labor glory. Carnations, chrysanthemums, daffodils and tulips decorated a pedestal at the feet of the Unknown Soldier.

The celebratory events were attended by the head of the Udmurt Republic Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Lieutenant-General Vladimir Nikeshkin. An endless stream of citizens wishing to pay tribute to the liberators flowed like a human river. There was a heap of flowers on the pedestal of the monument of military glory in an hour after the start of the ceremony. Employees of the Investigations Directorate also participated in the ceremony of laying flowers to the monument.

Eternal memory and eternal glory to millions of home front workers, who died of malnutrition and diseases, but who had been forging the victory at the machines and open-hearth furnaces, in the fields and on farms until the last minute of their lives. We give a filial low bow to all those thanks to whom our Udmurtia our whole country has been living and working peacefully for 69 years already.
