The investigating bodies of the Rostov Region Investigations Directorate continue investigating a criminal case launched into a crime under part 1 of article 126 of the RF Penal Code (abduction).

According to investigators, on 21 August 2011, between 12 and 3 AM, unidentified persons used a ladder prepared in advance to get inside the house of the manager of OAO Donkhlebbank in the village of Zimovniki and using force kidnapped him. Then the kidnappers via text messages and note demanded from the businessman’s relatives a ransom of 77 million rubles. A few days after the kidnapping they killed the victim, when the ransom was not paid.

As a result of special operations of the officers of Organized Crime Office of Crime Detection Department of the Rostov Region Main Office of the Interior Ministry, it was possible to identify four residents of the village of Zimovka involved in the abduction and murder of the bank manager. By the present time all of them have been held with the support of the Special Quick Response Squad.

The investigators are carrying out investigating operations on the suspects. They have searched their residences and confiscated two grenades. It has been established that the suspects knew the banker’s family and prepared carefully for the crime.

At present the investigators and police officers are continuing to gather and consolidate the evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
