On the eve of the Victory Day celebrations, together with representatives of other local law enforcement agencies and the acting governor of the Volgograd Region, senior officers of the Vologda Region Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia commemorated counterintelligence officer who gave their lives for the victory, for our country's future, for peace and prosperity of its citizens.

A ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers was held at the monument to chekist-soldier set in honor of the officers of the Stalingrad Front, soldiers and commanders of the 10th Division of the NKVD, who fought to the death, defending Stalingrad from the Nazi invaders. The people presented at the ceremony commemorated the heroes of that terrible war who had died in the line of duty by observing a minute of silence.
