Head of Rostov Region Investigations Directorate visited Great Patriotic War veteran, who had devoted about 50 years to investigative work, and took part in ceremony of laying garlands of glory at monument to liberators of Rostov

On the eve of the 69th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the head of the Rostov Region Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Yuri Popov and the staff visited the Great Patriotic War veteran Lev Lazarevich Livshits, where in the home atmosphere they congratulated him on the upcoming Victory Day.

Lev Lazarevich Livshits was born in 1924; he is a justice advisor, a retired worker of prosecuting authorities. Prior to joining the law enforcement authorities, he served in the army, participated in the Great Patriotic War. He was awarded medals for bravery and courage in the fight against the Nazi invaders. In peacetime, replacing military weapons to shield and sword - a symbol of law and order, he had been working for the prosecuting authorities in an investigator nearly for 50 years. Several generations of workers of the Investigations Directorate and the Prosecutor’s Office know Lev Lazarevich Livshits as a wonderful person, a competent investigator, who has done much to strengthen the rule of law. For a long professional life Livshits took part in the upbringing of a large number of investigators. In retirement, in the age of 90, Lev Lazarevich Livshits continues to maintain close ties with the teams of the Rostov Region Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation; he meets with young workers and investigators, willingly shares experience with them.

Head of the Investigations Directorate Yuri Popov also took part in the ceremony of laying the Garland of Glory at the Memorial to "Soldiers- Liberators of Rostov-on-Don from the Nazi invaders in 1941-1943", which has become traditional. The ceremony was attended by Governor of the Rostov Region, heads of the Government of the Rostov Region, law enforcement bodies, the delegation of war veterans and home front workers.

The participants observed a minute of silence in memory of those fallen in the Great Patriotic War.
