In Murmansk Region Regional Investigative Committee staff honored Great Patriotic War veterans on the eve of Victory Day

On the eve of the 69th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a solemn meeting with veterans of the Great Patriotic War was held in the auditorium of the Murmansk Region Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. The festive event was attended by the Head of the Investigations Directorate Major General of Justice Nikolai Konnov, deputy heads of the Investigations Directorate, members of the Central Office and territorial investigations departments, as well as the younger generation of future investigators - Cadets of the patronized class of the lyceum number 2 of Murmansk.

The solemn event was opened by the Head of the Investigations Directorate. Nikolai Konnov congratulated veterans on the upcoming Victory Day and thanked them for their courage and dedication during the war, noting that the high patriotism, integrity, professionalism, self-organization, and a sense of responsibility for their work found in the people of war time, are a role model for future generations of Russian investigators.

Then veterans shared their memories of wartime everyday life.

At the end of the solemn event employees of the Investigations Directorate and students of the cadet class congratulated veterans and then presented them with flowers and the book "In the service of the Law", in which a separate chapter describes the hard work of investigators during the Great Patriotic War.

In addition, employees of the Murmansk Region Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation visited a remarkable woman - a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and the Prosecuting Authorities Klavdia Ivanovna Markova.

Noting the long-term and fruitful cooperation with the investigating authorities and exemplary performance of her duty, upon considering the petition of the Murmansk Region Investigations Directorate, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin issued an order on awarding Klavdia Ivanovna Markova the Medal "For Assistance". The well-deserved award was presented to her in a festive atmosphere.
