In Moscow CEO of Eviterra Travel arrested in absentia for swindling

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case opened against employees of Eviterra Travel agency on suspicions of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud).

According to investigators, in 2013 the CEO of travel agency Nikolai Zayarny together with unidentified persons developed a scam to steal money from their clients. Later the accomplices received money from their clients meant to buy plane tickets, but had not intention to meet their obligations and spent the money on their own needs. At least 8 thousand citizens who wanted to go to holiday and those already on holiday abroad were hurt by their criminal actions.

At present Zayarny is wanted and at the request filed by the investigators a court has ruled to remand him in custody in absentia. The investigators are now calculating the damage caused to the clients of the travel agency and identifying the accomplices.
