In Moscow criminal investigation launched in frauds of Rusbeauty company

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee following the check in information published in mass media about violation of rights of elderly people and deceit in providing them with services has launched a criminal investigation in a crime under part 2 of article 159.4 of the RF Penal Code (deliberate fraud in the area of business).

According to investigators unidentified employees of Rusbeauty for the purpose of receiving illegal income made and mailed to citizens catalogues of consumer goods. Prices in the catalogues were higher than the market price. Persons, who got those catalogues and advertising booklets with their personal details in them, allegedly were winners of marketing campaigns and could count on money prizes. The booklets practically forced the clients to order goods on a sum no less than the one stated in the campaign. That was the condition to get the main prize of a lot of money. The investigators believe that employees of Rusbeauty did not plan to pay any prizes and did not do that though the clients met all the requirements. At present it is known that people bought goods worth over 250 thousand rubles.

At the moment a number of investigative and search operations are underway to identify exact individuals involved in the crime and other victims of the scam. The investigation is ongoing.
