In Tatarstan investigation launched regarding hemorrhagic fever of school staff and children

From 2014 to January 2015, in Mamadysh District 72 people were hospitalized with Korean hemorrhagic fever, including 24 school staff and children. Tatarstan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in crimes under part 1 of article 236 of the RF Penal Code (violation of sanitarian and epidemiological rules), part 1 of article 238 (providing services that do not meet safety standards).

According to investigation, the situation became possible because unidentified people had violated sanitarian and epidemiological requirements to the operation of production, public rooms, buildings and construction and provided substandard services.

Investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
