Moscow investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in a crime under part 1 of article 138 of the RF Penal Code (violation of privacy of correspondence).

According to investigators, in the period between 31 January and 1 February 2015, an unidentified person illegally got access to the email of an employee of LifeNews TV channel. The hacker was able to look through personal correspondence and blocked the access to the email by changing the password.

At present investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime and hold the person involved. The investigation is ongoing.
