Official accused of abuse of office and bribetaking to face trial in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area-Yugra
Investigative agencies of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area-Yugra branch of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation finished investigating the criminal case against the deputy chief of the bidding and contract work department of the budgetary institution "Directorate of Capital Construction" accused of committing crimes under part 1 of article 285 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of power), part 3 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (acceptance of a bribe for illegal actions by an official) and paragraph c of part 5 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code and part 6 of the article 290 of the RF Penal Code (acceptance of a large-scale bribe by an official).
According to investigators, from August to November 2011, the deputy head of bidding and contract work department of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area-Yugra budgetary institution "Directorate of Capital Construction", using his official position, assisted representatives of various organizations in recognizing them as winners of public auctions. In the course of tender procedures he was representing the interests of the institution and making up illegal reports on conformity with tender requrements. As a result of unlawful actions, the organizations were recognized as the winners of the auction, government contracts for the construction of socially important facilities were signed with them. For his services, the official has received 780 thousand rubles and a car worth more than 3 million rubles.
Currently, investigators collected sufficient evidence, so the criminal case with the approvedindictment has been submitted to the court to be tried on the merits.
