Volgograd Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation against the director of a commercial organization specializing in design work. He is suspected of a crime under part 1 of article 199 of the RF Penal Code (evading corporate taxes by putting knowingly false information in tax statements committed on a large scale).

According to investigators, during 2013, the suspect’s firm under a subcontract developed separate sections in design and working documents on dismantling a stadium located in Central district of Volgograd. In addition, the same firm was employed for analyzing and auditing design estimates of Akvarel shopping center. In order to get a tax deduction the director concluded false contracts under which part of the work was allegedly done by a third firm. The fictitious finance and accounting documents allowed the suspect to evade paying over 4 million rubles in tax.

At present investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. The suspect admitted the guilt and intends to compensate for the damage. The investigation is ongoing.
