The General Investigative Office for the North Caucasus and the Southern Federal Districts of the Investigative Committee has opened another criminal case against Sergei Tsapok and Vyacheslav Tsepovyaz suspected of attempted murder and robbery of a resident of the village Kushchevskaya in 2008.

The General Investigative Office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has received a final report of the Technical Commission on the causes of the Tu-154 wreck near Smolensk, with the President of Poland on board, on April 10, 2010. The decision of the Technical Commission and the comments of the Polish side are also enclosed in the report. Together with the report the investigators received real evidence, which had been submitted to the Technical Commission. Precisely, the investigators had given fragments of aircraft, equipment, flight data recorders and other materials taken from the scene of catastrophe. As part of this case all the necessary forensic examination of this evidence will be appointed. After studying the final report of the Technical Commission the investigators will appoint aircraft maintenance psychological forensic examination.

Today, the administration of the Investigative Committee have decided to transfer the materials of procedural checks of law enforcement officials in Krasnodar region to the General Investigative Office. This decision was made in order to conduct the most comprehensive and objective check of the activities of law enforcement officials, including a number of officers of regional Investigative Office of the Investigative Committee. The audit will be considered a criminal case.

The General Investigative Office of the Investigative Committee has completed investigation into the criminal case against Aleksei Serenko accused of committing a series of murders and robberies in the Rostov region, including the murder of an employee of the Chief Internal Affairs Office in Nizhny Novgorod region, Dmitry Chudakov and the members of his family: his wife and two young children.
