The Belgorod Region authorities of the Investigative Committee have brought final charges against former doctor of City Hospital No 2 in Belgorod, Ilya Zelendinov. He is charged with crimes under Part 4 of Article 111 of the RF Penal Code and Part 2, item “a” of Article 116 (Infliction of grave injury involving the death of the victim by negligence, battery through ruffian-like motives). The accused has been informed that the investigation was finished.

We remind that on 29 December 2015, Zelendinov aware that a patient in the emergency room could not fight back, punched him with his hand in the face and in the torso. As a result the 55-year-old man fell on the concrete floor covered with linoleum and hit the back of the head on it.

According to the conclusion of the forensic medical expert examination the patient died of acute heart failure which was the result of a reflex cardiac arrest resulted from the hit to the neck.

Zelendinov has undergone a psychological test which showed no mental problems or disorders.

The parties have been informed that the investigative activities were finished and will soon start reading the files of the case.
