Representatives of Investigative Committee hold talks with Egypt’s competent bodies on Airbus A321 terrorist attack investigation

Representatives of the RF Investigative Committee have visited Egypt to discuss joint efforts to investigate the terrorist attack aboard the Russian Airbus A321 committed in October 2015.

During the visit the representatives of the Major Cases Directorate and the International Legal Cooperation Directorate of the Investigative Committee held a number of working meetings with the Egypt’s Prosecutor General Nabil Sadek, his deputy in charge of the investigation, other high-ranking officials of the Prosecutor’s Office and investigative agencies, officials of forensic establishments and the Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The parties discussed the progress and results of the investigation, execution of mutual requests and agreed on further cooperation in the investigation. Additionally, the international commission set up to investigate the attack has started presenting the fragments of the plane, after the RF Investigative Committee insisted on it.

As a result of working meetings, the RF Investigative Committee and The Egypt’s Prosecutor General’s Office signed a Memorandum of understanding for the investigation of the terrorist attack.
