Second suspect of fire in print shop detained in Moscow

The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee continues investigating a fire in a storehouse that left several people dead. Investigators have pressed charges of a crime under Part 3 of Article 219 of the RF Penal Code (violation of fire safety) in absentia to CEO of OOO Print Express print shop Sergei Moskvin and chief engineer of the same company Anton Yatskov who was in charge of fire safety.

The investigators came in contact with the chief engineer as a result of well-planned investigative tactics. He decided to turn up at the Moscow Directorate, but did not admit his guilt.

As became known earlier, on the morning of 27 August 2016, a fire started in a storehouse in Altufyevskoye highway in Moscow and them spread to 4 floors of the building. Bodies 16 people were found at the fire scene and another person died in a hospital.

On 6 September 2016, Sergei Moskvin was remanded in custody. Under the load of the evidence he had decided to turn up in the Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee and confess to the crime.

Tomorrow the court will review a request of the investigators on custodial restraint for the second accused. The investigation is ongoing.
