The Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against former prosecutor of Leningrad Region Stanislav Ivanov suspected of taking at least 20 million rubles in bribes (Part 6 of Article 290 of the RF Penal Code).

According to a preliminary investigation, Ivanov while in capacity of the prosecutor of Leningrad Region took bribes of between 500,000 rubles and 1 million rubles on monthly bases in 2014-2016 from a businessman for general patronage and for helping him through checks and inspections run by inspectorates and the prosecutor’s office.

In addition, at the request of Ivanov, the businessman bought him an expensive Toyota Camry car, paid for his parking space for 2 years and for at least two family holidays worth more than 2 million rubles.

Searches and other necessary investigative operations are now underway. The investigators have requested a court to take Ivanov in custody pending trial.
