A metallic barrel with closed lid with burned human remains inside was found buried in the ground in a forest in Iznoski District, Kaluga Region on 19 October 2016. The Kaluga Region Office of the RF Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder).

A 39-year-old man, who used to live in Iznoski District, has been detained on suspicion of the crime. The man was held in Moscow, where he lives now. The suspect denies any involvement, however investigators have the evidence against him and have charged him with murder. The investigators believe that the murder took place in December 2010 and the motive might have been that the victim had had a large sum of money on him. The victim is not identified. It is possible that his name is Dmitry. The investigators also have the victim’s photo. The man (on the photo) is about 30 years old, about 190 cm high, thin, with dark short hair. In 2010, before going missing, he had lived in the city of Moscow or Moscow Region.
