In Komi Republic, former assistant of tariff service charged with corruption crime

The Komi Republic Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against former assistance of the Komi Republic Tariff Servcie Oleg Ryabinin suspected taking a bribe on a very large scale under Part 6 of Article 290 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, from March 2011 to August 2015, Ryabinin acted together with the head of the service Ilya Pervakov to systematically receive rewards from vice-chairman of the Komi Republic Government Konstantin Romadanov for general patronage over commercial organizations controlled by Romadanov and for assisting to make Pervakov take favorable decisions related to power and heat supply prices (tariffs) for those organizations. The total sum of the bribes taken by Ryabinin is about 2 million rubles.

A court has ruled to take Ryabinin in custody pending trial. The suspect has pleaded not guilty.

The proceedings against Ryabinin has been joined with proceedings against head othe Komi Republic Tariff Service Ilya Pervakov charged with taking a bribe on a very large scale (Part 6 of Article 290 of the RF Penal Code) in the form of illegal material services worth 5.8 million rubles (at the instructions of Romadanov, Prvakov’s debt to a firm for the flat he had bought for 12 million rubles) and systematically taking rewards from Romadanov totaling to over 1.6 million rubles.

Pervakov has pleaded guilty and is now in custody.
