In St. Petersburg, man charged with battery of paramedic to stand trial

The Saint Petersburg Office of the Investigative Committee has finished in the shortest possible time an investigation against ex-con Vitaly Gil, 38 charged with battery under Article 116 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on 15 February 2017, an ambulance crew arrived to a hotel in Tkachei Street to help a man who felt unwell after drinking alcohol.

When the paramedics were helping the patient, the accused who was also there hit one of them on the face. The woman then applied to a hospital with a head injury.

The investigators have enough evidence so the criminal case with the signed indictment has been referred to court.

The Investigative Committee responds immediately to all instances when rights of medical workers are being violated and each who impedes their activity has to think that they are going to be punished to the full extent of the law.
