The Kursk Region Office of the Investigative Committee is conducting a criminal investigation against Dmitry Volobuyev, a leader of a criminal gang.

Volobuyev is charged with organizing two murders of Khodyrevsky and Delyukin committed by a group of people in collusion under Part 3 of Article 33, Part 2, item “g” of Article 105, organization of arson under Part 3 of Article 33, Part 2 of Article 167 and attempted fraud with payouts by submitting false information on a very large scale under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 4 of Article 159.2 of the RF Criminal Code.

Investigators have discovered several more crimes committed by Volobuyev. Some of them were revealed thanks to an appeal published by mass media to give any information on Volobuyev’s crimes to the regional investigative authority.

CEO of a limited liability company who constructed 240 garages in Pobedy Avenue in the city of Kursk applied at the Kursk Region Office of the Investigative Committee. Volobuyev and some other persons pressuring and threatening the CEO had demanded from him to give ownership of 20 garages worth more than 8 million rubles. Deputy head of the Kursk administration is suspected of this crime. The victim had had to submit. The Kursk Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in extortion by a group of people on a very large scale under Part 3, item “b” of Article 163 of the RF Criminal Code. The suspect has been detained.

In addition, Volobuyev is also suspected of a 2016 defrauding a businessman of 2 million rubles payable for erecting advertisement banners in Kursk. He is also suspected of organizing arson of a BMW X5.

The investigators are going to press charges against Volobuyev and deputy head of the Kursk administration. The official is now expecting a restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
