Officers of Investigative Committee of Russia take part in investigative actions into murder of three Russian citizens in Central African Republic

The Main Investigations Directorate continues investigating the probe into murder of Orkhan Jemale, Alexander Rastorguev and Kirill Radchenko in the Central African Republic.

A group of officers of the Investigative Committee left for an official mission to the Central African Republic in accordance with the Russian criminal procedure law and international law in part of execution of a request for legal assistance.

The investigators held working meetings with competent law enforcement bodies of CAR with assistance of the Russian embassy; cooperation was set up for investigating into the murder of the Russian citizens.

The Russian investigation representatives took part in investigative activities and procedural acts carried out by law enforcement agencies of the Central African Republic following matters set by the request of legal assistance. The Russian investigators were provided with an opportunity to review investigation materials on the murder of Jemale, Rastorguev and Radchenko. The car they had been driving in was additionally examined with participation of the Investigative Committee officers; the interrogation of the driver was repeated; the forensic evidence was reviewed.

The additional data will be subject to comprehensive analysis and assessment in order to clarify the circumstances of the especially grave offence against the Russian citizens in detail.

As a result of the working trip, the Russian investigators and the Central African Republic law enforcement agencies reached an agreement to refer the probe to a higher recourse instance.
