The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructs the Central Office to supervise the assessment into poor housing for orphan children in Yaroslavl Region

Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia to supervise the procedural probe into arguments broadcasted in a TV report on provision of poor housing to orphaned children and children left without parental care.

One of federal TV channels reported that a house for orphaned children had been built in Borisoglebsky rural settlement in Yaroslavl Region by means of regional budget, however, according to residents, the apartments are uninhabitable: floors are rotten, facade is covered by cracks that might lead to collapse, drainage system has been mounted improperly, walls are covered with mold. District administration commissioned the house with significant violations.

The Head of the Committee demanded to give an impartial legal assessment of actions of all officials responsible for construction and commissioning of the residential building.
