Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructs to hold probe into commercial firm’s fraud with senior citizens money in Moscow following media report

Today one of the federal TV channels has reported that dozens of Moscow senior citizens were deceived by actions of SocAgroFinance LLC. It has been reported that the firm attracted elderly citizens’ money by promises of up to 40 percent revenue. The money of contributors went to the development of an agricultural enterprise in Tver Region and other projects that are successfully operating, according to witnesses. However, the citizens have not been receiving interest on their deposits for several months already.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia has instructed the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia to arrange a procedural probe into the facts reported.

During the probe, investigators will inspect financial schemes for the attraction of money and check the legitimacy of investments. The investigation will assess the actions of certain people to detect the possible indicia of swindling or other crimes against property. The pre-investigative probe will result in a procedural decision.
