In Transbaikal Territory, a local citizen to stand trial on conviction of a murder of a minor girl

The Transbaikal Territorial Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia finished investigation of a probe against a 33-year-old Chita resident convicted of a murder of a minor (Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia) and intentional infliction of damage to someone else's property committed by a generally dangerous method (Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

According to investigation, on February 17, 2021 in one of residential buildings of Chita, the convict, being under influence of alcohol and drugs, during a conflict with residents of one of the apartments fired a 12-gauge shotgun at the closed front door. As a result of the head and chest wound received a 9-year-old girl present in the apartment died at the scene.

The man was immediately detained and delivered to the Investigative Committee of Russia where he partially admitted his guilt during questioning and gave testimony on circumstances of the committed offense. Upon investigative motion, the court ruled to put the accused into custody. The accused has a previous criminal record.

A psychological and psychiatric examination had been scheduled in terms of investigation and according its conclusions recognized the accused as a person capable of being accountable and guiding his actions.

The investigation gathered enough evidence, therefore, the probe was referred to the Prosecutor's Office for indictment approval.
