In relation to mass media reports on hospitalization of children from Artek International Children's Center, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed the officers of the Central Office of the Committee in collaboration with the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia over the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol to carefully examine all circumstances of the situation.
At present the investigators of the territorial unit of the Committee established that in the Artek children's center a number of children were diagnosed with coronavirus infection, therefore, in compliance with the established procedure, the infected children, as well as children from their number of contacts, were identified for treatment and further diagnosis in observation facilities specially designated for this on the territory of the republic, including and the sanatorium Priboy, located in the city of Evpatoria. Based on the results of the visit to the Priboy sanatorium, which was carried out in compliance with the restrictions on contact with covid patients, it was established that the conditions for undergoing treatment were favorable, no facts of violation of children's rights were revealed. There were no applications or complaints from parents whose children are being treated at the Priboy sanatorium.
The head of the Committee drew the attention of subordinates to the need for constant contact with the direction of the children's center and doctors in order to receive prompt and comprehensive information about the situation and the current course of treatment for the parents of children. Parents and children will be given due attention and support.
