The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia has completed an investigation into the criminal case against Alexander Ogloblin, the former head of the Communications Planning Department of the Main Communications Department of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He was charged with committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by an organized group of people, on an especially large scale).

The investigators found that Ogloblin together with the former head of the Main Communications Department of the Armed Forces - Deputy Chief of General Staff Khalil Arslanov and other accomplices concluded state contracts on behalf of the Defense Ministry with Voentelecom for the supply of equipment for satellite communications ground stations and the network management monitoring centers at inflated costs. As a result, they stole 1.6 billion rubles during the execution of the contracts.

Ogloblin's accomplices - three former officials of the RF Ministry of Defense, including Arslanov, as well as two representatives of JSC "Voentelecom" and the heads of three commercial organizations - were also charged in the criminal case, the investigation of which continues.

The investigation has collected sufficient evidence, and therefore the criminal case against Ogloblin with the approved indictment was sent to court to be considered on the merits.
