Military investigators opened a criminal case of bribery for assistance in the performance of a state contract

The 517th Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated and is investigating a criminal case against Alexander Lopatin, a leading advisor of the Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense for the provision of state defense orders, and Sergey Komasko, director of the Aviation Property Support Department of the UAC branch of PJSC "UAC". They are suspected of committing a crime under Part 6 Article 290 of the Criminal Code (bribery on a large scale).

According to the investigators, in April 2021 Lopatin and Komasko had the intention to receive money from the CEO of a commercial organization to create the conditions for unhindered payment for the aircraft and technical equipment manufactured and delivered by the organization under a state contract.

On December 7, 2021, the CEO handed over the machinery and equipment demanded of him for a total sum of 1 million 400 thousand rubles.

Lopatin was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the RF Criminal Procedural Code. At the request of the investigating magistrate, the court ordered him placed under house arrest.

Investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime are being carried out.
