The Chairman of Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to initiate the issue of transferring the criminal case of pedestrian collision in St. Petersburg to the Investigative Committee

As reported in the media, on December 15, 2021, a driver with signs of intoxication at a red traffic light drove into a crosswalk and hit two people and then crashed into a lamp post. A 23-year-old girl died and a 26-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver, born in 1978, has been detained. Police instigated criminal proceedings over the fact. It is set out that the driver has previously been brought to administrative responsibility.

Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, having read the report on the situation by the Acting Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for St. Petersburg A.D. Golombievsky, instructed to initiate the issue of transferring the criminal case for further investigation to the St. Petersburg Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
