As instructed by A.I. Bastrykin, the head of the IC of Russia, investigators of the Central Office of the IC of Russia continue to establish the identity and citizenship of mercenaries arriving on the territory of Ukraine, as well as to record and investigate the facts of their participation in the commission of criminal acts in order to bring them to criminal liability under Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (mercenarism), which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
On March 17, 2022, the People’s Militia of the DPR reported that during the liberation of Maryinka, three instructors allegedly from the United States were killed, who had been on the territory of Ukraine since 2018 and were directly involved in the extermination of the civilian population of Donbass.
According to reports, foreign mercenaries arrive on the territory of Ukraine to provide support to the Ukrainian military. For the Russian side, they are an enemy force, which takes part in the shelling resulting in the death of people and the destruction of infrastructure.
As instructed the head of the IC of Russia, all such facts are being thoroughly investigated in order to bring the perpetrators to justice as established by law.
