The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia holds a brief meeting via video conferencing

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, held a meeting via videoconference. It was attended by the First Deputy and Deputy Chairmen of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Heads of divisions of the Main Directorates, Regional Investigative Bodies and Departmental Educational Institutions.

The results of the activities of the Investigative Units of the Russian Investigative Committee for 9 months of 2022 were discussed in the meeting. Noting the positive results of the work, Mr. A.I. Bastrykin emphasized that almost 56,000 serious and especially serious crimes have been investigated in the analyzed period, and their share in the number of investigated crimes increased. Thanks to the measures taken, the proportion of cases, the investigation of which was finalized within two months, has increased. In addition, the share of repaid damages at the investigative stage showed a steady upward trend. It amounted to almost 238 billion rubles, and more than 108 billion rubles were distrained on the property of the accused.

In general Mr. A.I. Bastrykin expressed his appreciation for work done by the Investigative Directorates of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Mordovia, Primorsky Krai and Tyumen Oblast. At the same time, the Head of the Department noted shortcomings in the work of other Territorial Divisions, in particular, the Investigative Directorates for the Republic of Adygea, the Udmurt and the Chechen Republics, Kaliningrad, Leningrad, Lipetsk and Ryazan Oblasts, as well as the Western Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Russian Investigative Committee.

The Head of the Department drew the attention of the Heads of the Investigative Directorates of the Investigative Committee of Russia to a significant increase in serious and especially serious crimes committed by migrants. In this regard, Mr. A.I. Bastrykin instructed to take a set of measures so to increase the crime solving rates. In addition, the Head of the Department noted the importance of eliminating procedural violations while considering reports of crimes and investigating extremist and terrorist criminal cases.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee drew the attention of the Heads of Investigative Directorates to the need for a prompt and efficient response on citizens' appeals and comments in social media, he emphasized the importantce of having feedback from the population, the importantce of getting an objective picture of what is happening. He added that it is necessary to ensure regular thematic personal receptions of citizens and to monitor the Internet space constantly. "Each negative comment should receive a corresponding response from our Officers," said Mr. A.I. Bastrykin.

Reports on the results of work for 9 months of 2022 were made by Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Tambov Oblast, Major General of Justice Alexander Nikolayevich Polshakov, Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Stavropol Krai, Major General of Justice Igor Nikolayevich Ivanov, Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Buryatia, General Major of Justice Vyacheslav Viktorovich Sukhorukov and Head of the Western Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Russian Investigative Committee, Colonel of Justice Pavel Sergeevich Vymenets. The speakers announced the results of the analysis of the work carried out in various areas, identifying the reasons for the shortcomings and identifying priority vectors for the upcoming activities. The Head of the Department instructed the leaders to determine a clear algorithm of actions and take appropriate measures to improve the situation in the entrusted area of ​​work before the end of the reporting period.
