The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia will be reported on the progress of the criminal investigation into the crash of an aircraft in Tver Oblast

The Investigative Bodies of the Western Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched a criminal case on the crash of the aircraft in accordance with Part 3, Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport, negligently resulting in the death of two or more persons).

Earlier it was reported that on the evening of November 27, 2022, a Robinson R66 aircraft crashed near the Vyazovets village, Tver Oblast, the pilot and passenger died on the spot from their injuries. The investigation carried out an inspection of the scene, seized fuel samples, appointed the necessary forensic examinations, interviewed eyewitnesses, and detected the causes of the incident.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. P.S. Vyments, Head of the Western Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport, to submit a report on the set of investigative actions being carried out and the circumstances detected so far.

The investigation is a subject to control in the Main Directorate of the Department.
