Investigative authorities of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region have detained a 27-year-old man suspected of violating traffic rules under the influence of alcohol, while being deprived of the right to drive vehicles. His violation resulted in the accidental death and injury of children (clauses "a, v" of Part 4, article 264 of the Criminal Code).

According to the investigation, on June 8, 2024, the suspect, while driving towards the Mozhaysky City District, ran over a bus stop where two children born in 2011 and 2014 were standing. As a result of the accident, one child died at the scene, and the other was hospitalized in serious condition.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Acting Head of the Main Investigative Department for the Moscow Region, Ya. A. Yakovlev, to report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances. The execution of the directive has been placed under the control of the central office of the department.
