The Investigative Committee of Russia establishes the circumstances of mass food poisoning in a number of regions

The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow, the Nizhny Novgorod region, and the Republic of Tatarstan are investigating criminal cases initiated under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the RF (production and sale of products, provision of services that do not meet safety requirements) based on the facts of food poisoning of people.

In Moscow, more than 100 people sought medical help in city hospitals with symptoms of food poisoning. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 14 people were hospitalized, including a minor. In the Republic of Tatarstan, more than 10 people have been hospitalized, 8 of them in intensive care. It has been established that all these individuals ordered food through delivery services and consumed salads produced by Localkitchen LLC.

Investigative actions are being carried out with the general director of the company "Localkitchen," also known as "Kitchen in the District," Anton Lozin, the head of the quality department of "Localkitchen," Elena Mashkova, and the de facto head of the bean-producing company "Savon-K," Vladimir Shin, who were detained today. The investigation is deciding on the measure of restraint for all three.

Upon conducting searches at the locations where the products in question were sold, the activities of these organizations have been suspended by the Rospotrebnadzor administrations in Moscow and the Moscow region. Violations of sanitary and epidemiological legislation requirements have been identified.

Necessary examinations have been appointed for the products seized in all these regions. Additionally, it is being determined in which other regions the dangerous products could have been delivered to consumers, as well as other individuals who may have suffered after their consumption.

Taking into account the information collected by the investigation, indicating that all the victims ate products from the same manufacturer, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia has made a decision to transfer the criminal cases to the Main Investigative Department for further investigation.
