One more criminal case over banditry and extortion launched against attackers of State Duma deputy R. Khudyakov

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over an attack on State Duma deputy Roman Khudyakov started over signs of a crime under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 116 of the RF Criminal Code (battery through hooliganism) and part 1 of article 213 (hooliganism).

We remind that July 9, 2013, Artur Minbulatov in Toyota Land Cruiser made a dangerous movement and nearly collided with the car of Roman Khudyakov. Then, having got out from the car Minbulatov and Zakarya Gadzhiyev without any reasons beat up Khudyakov and fled the scene.

In addition, investigators have found that the two men were involved in another crime. In this view investigators launched another criminal investigation into signs of crimes under part 1 of article 162 of the RF Criminal Code, paragraph “b” of part 3 of article 163 (banditry and extortion). The said criminal cases were filed into a single law suit.

According to investigators in March 2013, Khachubek Khadisov, Artur Minbulatov, Shamil and Zakarya Gadzhiyev were in a café in the Yevropeysky shopping mall and illegally demanded a businessman 30 million rubles. They threatened the businessman and his family to use violence. When the victim tried to phone for help, they beat him up and stole his mobile phone.

It should be noted that at first the investigating bodies refused to open a case into this incident. In this view, the investigators are also going to impartially qualify the actions of the officials of internal affairs bodies who decided that and find all the circumstances of the said crimes.

On the request of the investigators court ruled to place Artur Minbulatov, Khachubek Khadisov, Shamil and Zakarya Gadzhiyev in custody as a pretrial restraining measure. In the near future the investigators are going to indict them. Investigation is ongoing.
