Today Chairman of the Russia’s investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has held an operational meeting in the city of Nalchik, the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria to hear the progress and results of the investigation into the murder of arbitrator of the Chechen Republic Adam Agakhadzhiyev and an acquaintance of his Isa Atayev (paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 and part 1 of article 222 of the RF Penal Code).

The meeting was attended by the senior officials of the Main Investigations Directorate in North Caucasian Federal District, Interior Ministry and Federal Security Service in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.

We remind that when the bodies of Agakhadzhiyev and Atayev were found on 21st km of the federal motorway Vladikavkaz – Pyatigorsk in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria with gunshot wounds, a group of the most experienced investigators and criminologists of the Main Investigations Directorate in the North Caucasian Federal District immediately set off for the crime scene. During the examination of the scene using special forensic equipment the specialists found and seized bullets and cartridge cases and other objects essential for the investigation. The seized objects are under necessary forensic expert examinations. According to the preliminary results of forensic ballistic test, both Agakhadzhiyev and Atayev were killed from the same gun, most likely a gas pistol homemade into the one shooting 9mm bullets. It has been found that after the murder the unidentified persons stole the property of the victims – a 2013 Toyota Camry, Agakhadzhiyev’s laptop computer and other personal belongings. The investigators are considering several versions of the murder, including the one connected with the Agakhadzhiyev’s professional activity, who since 2011 was an arbitrator to an Arbitrage of the Chechen Republic and before that since 2007 had served in Grozny mayor’s office as the deputy mayor and head of mayor’s cabinet.
