Criminal case launched against Vladislav Baumgertner

Today the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee following the results of the reviewing the files received from the competent bodies of the Republic of Belarus, has opened a criminal case against Chairman of Supervisory Council of ZAO Belarusian Potash Company (CJSC) – CEO of OAO Uralkali (OJSC) Vladislav Baumgertner, former first deputy of ZAO Belarusian Potash Company Konstantin Solodovnikov and other persons on suspicions of a crime under part 2 of article 201 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of power).

The files show that the said senior officials while discharging managerial functions in commercial organizations, abused their official powers, using them against lawful interests of the organizations and for making profit and to get benefits for other people causing considerable loss and grave consequences for Belarusian Potash Company and Belaruskali.

In the near future the investigators are going to prosecute him as the accused and to decide over the pre-trial restraining measure. After that, considering the norms provided for in part 1 of article 12 of the RF Penal Code, the Russia’s Investigative Committee is going to prepare the documents to extradite Baumgertner to the Russian Federation. Procedural decision on the charges and a pre-trial restraining measure will be made over other suspects.

Given the fact that the files provided by the Belarusian party contain information about other violations by top officials of ZAO Belarusian Potash Company and OAO Uralkali, they are going to be fully checked during the investigation and the actions of the persons, who committed them, will be given an appropriate legal qualification.
