Forensic investigators of Central Office of Investigative Committee join probe into murder of deputy security CEO of Applied Chemistry Research Institution in Sergiyev Posad

Experienced forensic investigators of the Central Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have arrived at the crime scene to help in the investigation of the murder of the 54-year-old deputy security CEO of OAO Applied Chemistry Research Institution (OJSC) (the town of Sergiyev Posad).

The deputy security CEO of Applied Chemistry Research Institution was killed near a house in Zheleznodorozhnaya Street in Sergiyev Posad on 27 December 2013, about 12:15 AM. The investigators preliminarily found that the victim had been walking home after an office party. He had walked home his colleague, who lived nearby, and then headed for home. At that moment an unidentified man had walked up to him and shot at him. The victim had died of the wounds in stomach and chest before the ambulance arrived.

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in Moscow Region launched a criminal investigation into signs of crimes under part 1 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder) and part 1 of article 222 (illegal circulation of firearms).

An investigating team is working at the scene at present moment. They have seized from the murder scene a cartridge case presumably from TT gun and a bullet jacket. A number of search and investigating operations are underway to find all the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved.
