On 26 December, About 09:45 PM, local time, a cargo An-12 plane of Irkutsk plane factory travelling from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk crashed at the military unit near the railway station Batareynaya in the suburbs of Irkutsk. According to preliminary data there were 6 people aboard the plane.

The East Siberian Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation into signs of the crime under part 3 of article 263 of the RF Penal Code (violation of rules for safety air traffic safety entailing death of two or more people by negligence).

Investigating operations are underway at the moment to find all the circumstances of the accident.
