School shooter charged with murder

The Main Investigation Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has pressed charges against a student of school No 263 in Moscow. He is charged with the crimes under paragraphs “a”, “b” and “j” of part 2 of article 105, part 3 of article 30 and paragraphs “a” and “b” of part 2 of article 105, part 4 of article 206 of the RF Penal Code (murder of two people due to their professional activity, attempted murder, taking hostage).

According to investigators, on 3 February 2014, the student came to school with a rifle. He took students of 10th A grade hostage and shot dead Geography teacher Andrey Kirillov, born in 1984. Police officers arrived on alarm. When they entered the school the teenager opened fire at them and wounded senior sergeant Vladimir Krokhin and shot dead warrant officer Sergey Bushuyev.

The accused is going to undergo a comprehensive psychological and psychiatric evaluation. Investigating operations are underway to find all the circumstances of the crime.
