In Primorsky Territory resident of Ussuriysk found guilty of sex crime against child and murder

Court has found the evidence gathered by the Far Eastern Federal District Investigation Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee enough to convict a 29-year-old man from the city of Ussuriysk, Primorsky Territory. He was found guilty of crimes under part 3 of article 30, paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 131 and paragraphs “c” and “j” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (attempted rape using helpless state of the victim aged under 14, murder of a minor, who the killer knew was in a helpless state aggravated by a rape).

The court and investigators have found that in February 2013, the accused in Ussuroiysk in daytime saw an 8-year-old girl walking home from school and using the child’s trustfulness lured her in his car offering to watch a kitten. The man drove the child outside the city, to a place empty of people, where he attempted to rape her. After that, wanting to conceal the crime the man stabbed the girl multiple times to death. Then the accused tried to destroy the evidence and fled the scene. He was identified due to coherent joint operations of the personnel of the Investigative Committee and those of law enforcement in Primorsky Territory.

The court has sentenced the man to 24.5 years in a maximum-security penal colony and bound him to pay the family of the killed girl 2 million rubles.
