In Moscow criminal investigation launched in attempted murder and illegal storage of firearms

The investigating bodies of the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation on the attempted murder of a businessman containing signs of a crime under part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (attempted murder), part 1 of article 222 (illegal circulation of firearms).

According to investigators, in the evening of 29 May 2014, a man on a scooter shot no fewer than six shots from a Stechkin automatic pistol at the victim driving a Mercedes near No 13 in Pokrovka Street in Moscow. The victim was delivered to hospital in coma.

51-year-old Sergey Telin was held on suspicion of the crime. He confessed to the crime and explained that the motive was personal dislike between the two men, who had known each other before. At present a civil dispute between them is being mediated by court.

On one of these days investigators are going to press charges against Telin and file a motion on taking him in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
