Criminal investigation launched against Igor Kolomoysky and Arsen Avakov

The Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against Dnepropetrovsk Region Governor Igor Kolomoysky and Interior Minister Arsen Avakov. They are suspected of organizing crimes under part 3 of article 33, paragraphs “a”, “b”, “f”, “g” and “k” of part 2 of article 105, part 3 of article 33, part 1 of article 356, part 3 of article 33, part 3 of article 144, part 3 of article 33, paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 126 of the RF Penal Code (organization of murder; use of prohibited means and methods of warfare; abduction; impeding legal activity of a journalist).

According to investigators, Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, acting in concord with businessman Igor Kolomoysky, the appointed Governor of Dnepropetrovsk Region, and other senior officials of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, from 12 April 2014, deliberately with the purpose of killing civilians organized and supervised the military operation conducted by controlled and subordinate to him military servants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, armed members of the National Guard and Right Sector, as well as militants of the special unit Dnepr of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry formed and financed by Kolomoysky. During that operation they violated international laws when deliberately with the purpose of killing unlimited number of civilians by a generally dangerous way and motivated by political hate used Grad multiple rocket launchers, unguided air-to-surface cluster missiles and other heavy offensive weapons to shell the towns of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Donetsk, Mariupol and other towns in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics, killing over 100 civilians including Russian citizens who did their job there – journalists Kornelyuk and Voloshin, human rights activist Mironov, Italian citizen photographer Andrea Rocchelli, and wounding over 200 civilians, damaging, destroying or burning down over 500 homes. In addition, vital infrastructure and public utilities, hospitals, schools were destroyed pushing over 50 thousand residents of those towns to flee their homes and seek refuge in the Russian Federation.

Besides, the investigators believe that Avakov, Kolomoysky and other senior officials of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry supervised abduction of Zvezda TV channel reporters Sushenkov and Malyshev, illegal capture of the same media company journalists Davydov and Konashenkov and other Russian correspondents.

The Committee’s investigators will restore the truthful picture of the crimes committed in Ukraine. We have enough reasons to assume that Avakov and Kolomoysky with all their dirty money are behind all that. It was they and their associates who organized the crimes of the Right Sector and National Guard against both their own people and civilians from other countries, journalists and kids. Even military servants understand that Avakov and Kolomoysky are drowning their own country in their people’s blood and refuse to follow their criminal orders and shoot unarmed people and kids, and sometimes even go over to the citizen soldiers.

In the near future the investigators are going to issue a warrant to prosecute Avakov and Kolomoysky, file a restraint motion with a court and put them on an international wanted list as those committing crimes against peace and security of humanity.

Kolomoysky, Avakov, all the perpetrators and accomplices – from organizers to perpetrators – should remember that no one of their crimes committed against their people and Russian citizens will not go unpunished.
