Staff of Kurgan Region Investigations Directorate congratulated retired employees of prosecuting and investigating authorities on eve of 69th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War

As part of the upcoming celebrations of the 69th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, employees of the Kurgan Region Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia congratulated retired employees of prosecuting and investigating authorities Boris Petrovich Sakharov and Mikhail Vasilyevich Pankratov.

Given the advanced age of the pensioners, Directorate employees visited them at home, presented flowers and gifts to them, thanked them for the great victory and honored memory of those killed in the war together with the veterans.

In addition, together with Boris Petrovich Sakharov, employees of the Forensic Department went to his summer residence to assist him in improving the garden. Boris Petrovich Sakharov began his career in 1951 as a people’s investigator at the Almenevo District Prosecutor’s Office, and then, from 1955 to 1995, he served in various positions in the Kurgan Region Prosecutor's Office. Boris Petrovich Sakharov retired with the title of senior counselor of justice, as a senior assistant prosecutor of the region for supervision over investigation in national security agencies; he was the Chairman of the Committee of the Regional Prosecutor's Office for the rehabilitation of victims of political repression. Boris Petrovich Sakharov is a veteran of labor; he has many awards, including the medal "For Valiant Labor in the years of the Great Patriotic War".

Mikhail Vasilyevich Pankratov was born on September 1, 1925. He was drafted into the army in December 1942. He graduated from the Chelyabinsk Military Aircraft Mechanic School. In late May 1944 he was sent for further service in a combat aviation guards regiment, which was based at one of the airfields of the Leningrad Region, and was subsequently relocated to Belarus. In order to study new types of aircraft, some of the air regiment and technical staff members, including Mikhail Pankratov, were sent to the Moscow Region for a period from July 1944 to February 1945. After returning to Belarus, Mikhail Vasilyevich Pankratov prepared aircraft for combat missions. After joining the guards regiment and relocation to Poland, as part of a group he was engaged in operational work to identify those who had collaborated with the Nazis. For his participation in hostilities near Moscow, in Ukraine and Poland Mikhail Vasilyevich Pankratov was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree and medals, including "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945". After demobilization, he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Law Institute. He worked as a senior investigator at the Kurgan City Prosecutor’s Office, and then he was engaged in political work. He had worked as deputy manager of the trust "Zauralelektrosetstroy" for 25 years. Now, despite his advanced age, he pays a lot of attention to the patriotic education of youth.
