The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Leningrad Region continue investigating a criminal case against Yevgeny Litovchenko detained in April 2014 on suspicion of rape of a 14-year-old girl. The investigators have got hold of irrefutable evidence that the man had been involved in the crime and he was charged under paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 131 of the RF Penal Code.

The investigators also believed that on 28 July 2012, Litovchenko raped and killed a 28-year-old woman, who had arrived to a relative of hers in her holiday house in Druzhba gardening society, Vsevolzhsk District, Leningrad Region.

Litovchenko was also checked on having been involved in an especially grave crime against Pasha Kostyunin, who had walked out his school in December 2011 and disappeared. It was this investigation during investigating operations of which, on 6 June 2014, Litovchenko escaped from the investigators in the woods in Kirov District, Leningrad Region.

After the escape investigators opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 313 of the RF Penal Code, which was accepted for investigation by the investigating bodies for the Leningrad Region and filed in a single law suit with the criminal case over rape of minor.

The Northwestern Federal District Investigations Directorate is investigating a criminal case over negligence of the officers due to which Litovchenko had escaped (article 293 of the RF Penal Code).
