In Moscow criminal investigation launched in children’s food poisoning

On 8 August 2014, 58 passengers of the train Abakan-Moscow, 55 of which are children aged between 10 and 16, were taken to hospital from Yaroslvasky railway station with signs of food poisoning. The Moscow Interregional Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation in the crime under article 238 of the RF Penal Code (rendering services not meeting safety standards of life or health of consumers).

At present investigators are looking at all the circumstances of the incident. A number of necessary expert examinations have been assigned. The investigation is ongoing.
